A popular ‘passport’ project which gives unpaid carers discounts on a range of local services is to be launched in Dacorum this week.
Carers who live, work or care in the borough are invited to sign up to the Carer’s Passport discount card – which offers savings in shops, restaurants and leisure venues including The Fragrance Shop and Chiquito – at a special launch event on Friday.
Charity Carers in Herts has issued more than 1,000 cards since it was rolled out in Stevenage, Watford and Three Rivers last year.
The launch will be hosted by Mayor of Dacorum Penny Hearn at Hemel Hempstead central library, Combe Street, from 11am to 3pm and town MP Mike Penning is also expected to attend.
Catering will be provided by Sainsbury’s with Hemel Hempstead Woodhall Farm store manager Mike Judge delivering the food. The London Road store will also be making a donation.
