A community-run scheme to help reduce Kings Langley’s carbon footprint has received a welcome funding boost to produce a ‘toolkit’ to share advice and support on renewable energy schemes.

Herts county councillor Richard Roberts, who represents the village ward, has allocated £600 from his locality budget to Grand Union Community Energy Ltd, to help them produce the document for groups thinking about setting up a similar scheme.

GUCE (pronounced ‘juice’) already received £1,000 towards the project from Dacorum’s Den last year. It is hoped the kit will help others learn from its experiences including installing 180 solar panels on the Rudolf Steiner School.
