Hemel Hempstead MP Mike Penning is urging foodies with a fondness for curries to put forward their favourite restaurants for a national competition.
He has called for nominations for the local round of the Tiffin Cup contest to find the best South Asian restaurant around.
The annual event, now in its ninth year, is organised by a cross-party group of MPs known as the Tiffin Club.
Each MP is invited to nominate one South Asian restaurant from their constituency to go through to a regional final.
The top ten entrants will be invited to a special cook-in at Bellamy’s Restaurant in Westminster.
The competition aims to raise the profile of the quality and diversity of South Asian food in Britain as well as raise money for the charity World Vision.
Mr Penning said this week: “This is a great opportunity to raise the profile of the South Asian restaurants in Dacorum.
“We usually have a wonderful response and I urge people to nominate their favourite. I really hope one of our restaurants can make the final this year!”
