Fish spa director is not let off the hook

News.

News.

The director of a foot spa which used tiny fish to feed on dead skin has been disqualified for failing to keep adequate accounting records.

Bradly Edward Carter, who ran Dr Spafish in Hemel Hempstead’s Marlowes Shopping Centre along with other outlets across the country, is banned from acting as a director for seven years after an Insolvency Service investigation was unable to establish who he employed, what his staff were paid and whether tax had been paid to HM Revenue & Customs.

The spa was closed down temporarily in October 2011 amid national fears the feet-feasting fish could spread infections such as hepatitis C and HIV, but Mr Carter’s company went into liquidation the following month, owing £788,968 to creditors. It had only begun trading the previous August.

The 44 year old from Essex, is not permitted to be involved in the formation, promotion or management of companies until 2020.
