A Bovingdon family has been devastated by the sudden death of their two year old daughter just two days before Christmas.
Emergency services were called at 8.20am on Monday, December 23 after the toddler suffered a cardiac arrest.
An East of England Ambulance Service spokesman said: “Despite the best efforts of everyone involved, there was sadly nothing that could be done for the patient. Our thoughts are very much with the patient’s family at this distressing time.
“Although these tragic circumstances are very rare children can be very susceptible to all kinds of conditions, particularly at this time of year, and we would encourage all parents to be extra mindful.
“A number of care pathways are available if you think your child has fallen ill, including your GP, pharmacy , NHS 111, and in emergencies – 999.”
The case has been passed to Herts coroner’s office.
