Clinic launches six-month weight loss programme

According to a report last year, Hertfordshire has more admissions to hospital for obesity-related reasons than any other region in the UK.

One Stop Doctors, on Boundary Way, has designed a six-month programme, costing £555, to help patients make the changes they need to live life at an optimum weight.

An initial consultation, including lifestyle questions, body measurements and blood tests, is followed by a bespoke diet prescription plan.

There are follow-up appointments every two weeks for the first 12 weeks, then every month for the next three months, followed by a final review at the six month mark.

GP Katherine Fu said: “We all know that being overweight has been linked to serious health issues.

“The Weight Management Programme gives people access to a specially trained team to create a six-month plan tailored to the individual’s precise needs to optimise the chances of success.”
