It is believed that the cast and crew of the hit show were based at The Grand Junction Arms pub in Bulbourne, and shooting various scenes in the vicinity.
Day and night scenes were both being shot along the canal on Tuesday and Wednesday, while insiders said that there was also shooting at local blacksmiths Hammer & Tongs.
Call the Midwife is a BBC period drama about a group of nurse midwives working in the East End of London in the 1950s and 1960s.
