Swinburn’s stables sale stands at the starting gate

THE former racing stables of one of the equestrian world’s most famous personalities will be coming up for sale.
Estate agents Cole Flatt & Partners will be holding a preview day this Friday for agents and press before it launches Pendley Farm in Tring and Church Farm in Aldbury onto the market.
The two stables used by jockey and trainer Walter Swinburn and owned by entrepreneur Peter Harris go on sale on Wednesday, January 25.
It marks the end of an era for Mr Swinburn, a three-time Derby winner who quit the racing world last year.
The two properties feature more than 100 stables between them.
The larger of the two, Church Farm, was home to the Walter Swinburn Riding Stables set in more than 300 acres and home to Westlands Farm, which has its own equestrian unit with bungalow, stables and a pasture.
Church Farm has a reception building, seven apartments and two detached cottages 77 stables and gallops.
Pendley Farm has a Georgian house, 66 stables, a racing track and a self contained granny annex all set in 133 acres.
