Fat fighter sheds six stone to be a winner
THREE hours in the gym five days a week was how an amusement arcade manager lost six stone in eight months.
Adam Eddy from Hemel Hempstead was determined to reduce his 17 stone bulk because he got out of breath walking up stairs and suffered with weak knees and heartburn.
He had piled on the pounds after falling into depression when his mum died four years ago.
He said: “I hit the alcohol hard and ate Burger King, KFC and lots of pizza – anything fatty.”
Last year he decided to turn his life around and started going to The Lifestyle Studios on Kimps Way in Bennetts End where he took part in a training programme devised by award-winning athlete and gym manager Lesley-Ann Hopkins.
He said: “I completely changed my lifestyle and replaced the alcohol and fast food with lean chicken, steak and pasta dishes.
“I did three hour sessions in the gym that were about an hour and 45 minutes of cardiovascular training and the rest weights.
“I did it five or six times a week. I don’t know how I fit it in but I just did. I’d had enough of being unfit.”
The Lifestyle Studios management team – owner Karl Thomas and Lesley-Ann – were so impressed with Adam’s efforts that they awarded him with the company’s first achievement award.
Adam said: “I feel like a million pounds but I still have a little way to go because my target is 11 stone and I want to build muscle.
“Last year was my fat burning year. For some reason I absorbed all the advice and I enjoyed every minute of it. This year will be my muscle building year.”
Lesley-Ann said: “We are so proud of Adam and his achievement. He has remained focused, taken on board advice and used it to his advantage.”
