It’s the end of the long goodbye this week for Connect Dacorum’s Jeoff Colls, who has brought his time with the organisation to an end with a busy week of events.
As well as his own retirement do, he’s been saying goodbye at the organisation’s Big Business Quiz and the presentation of the awards in the Dacorum’s Dragon’s Apprentice challenge.
Jeoff, 66, has been working alongside his successor Cindy Withey for six months to ensure a smooth handover for the organisation that acts as a link between businesses and charities across the borough
There are some 160 business, local authority, school and charity members of Connect Dacorum, each providing if not money then volunteers and equipment for others in need. It has become an internationally recognised group.
Jeoff said this week: “ “Starting and running Connect Dacorum has been the most rewarding position I have held in my working life.
“I have been extremely fortunate to have worked with a huge number of fabulous businesses, together with some amazing local charities, and all with the support of Community Action Dacorum and Dacorum Borough Council.
“I have already become a trustee of Volunteer Centre Dacorum and a volunteer for Age UK’s handyman scheme, and have also offered to be a car driver for Community Wheels, so all in all I don’t think I will be bored.
“I would like to thank all the wonderful people I have worked with, and the people I have had the pleasure of meeting, during my time with Connect Dacorum
