Volunteers get Water Gardens ready for winter, November 2012

Volunteers from businesses in Hemel Hempstead have done their bit to help get the town centre spick and span for the winter.

A team from Dacorum Borough Council’s Clean, Safe and Green team was joined by 14 volunteers from Riverside Shopping Centre, Marlowes Shopping Centre, Steria, Domino’s Pizza and the Friends of the Water Gardens.

Robert Cassidy, parks and open spaces officer at Dacorum Borough Council, said: “The response we received from the local community and businesses was fantastic, it really showed how passionate people are for their local environment and surroundings. The group worked flat out for two hours, planting shrubs and putting mulch on the flower beds. We would like to thank the volunteers for their time and effort.”
