Body of dead emaciated dog seen on truck

An emaciated corpse of a dog which was seen on the back of a truck in Hemel Hempstead has sparked an RSPCA appeal.

The animal’s body was seen fixed to the towbar of a truck in Adeyfield’s Queens Square on Monday, May 9.

It is believed the dog was a greyhound/whippet breed.

Chief Inspector Rob Hartley said: “This was a very shocking sight.

“We have no idea how the dog died but clearly it was an upsetting sight and we are keen to speak to the owner of the truck about this.

“We have not had success in tracking down the truck yet, so we are appealing for the truck’s owner to get in touch with us on 0300 123 8018.”

The charity asks members of the public with information to call on the same number, in completel confidence.
