A collision between a car and a lorry caused rush hour tailbacks in Hemel Hempstead this morning.

Police were called to Breakspear Way at 7.32am after a grey Audi A6 and a lorry collided in the left-hand lane going towards the town.

A spokesman for Herts Police said: “It was damage only and no one was injured. The lane was all cleared by 8.15am.”

The incident initially had knock-on effects for commuters getting onto Jct 8 of the M1, but traffic is now flowing freely again.
