Two elderly people have been taken to hospital after four Hemel Hempstead homes flooded - some up to window level.
The houses in Turners Hill filled with water at around 6am this morning after a 15ins mains pipe in Eastbrook Way burst.

Emergency crews called to the scene pumped water out of gardens and water company contractors later arrived to start a large clean-up operation.

According to the East of England Ambulance Service, an elderly couple were taken from their flooded home in Turners Hill to hospital for safety reasons.

Another affected family in the worst-hit street are currently away on holiday, neighbours said.
