A shop owner has installed security cameras to save his customers from parking tickets.
Bruce Ellis, boss of specialist store Needlecraft, says parking in the area has been a problem since resident-only permits were introduced in the surrounding roads several years ago.

He uses the cameras outside the shop in Cotterells, Hemel Hempstead to make sure customers are parking properly within the store's seven allocated spaces.

If not he pops out to let them know that they could be slapped with a parking ticket by eagle-eyed traffic wardens.

Mr Ellis, who has been running the shop for around 30 years, had the cameras fitted around four weeks ago.

He said: "I usually go out and explain to them what they should do.

"I'm watching what other drivers are doing, how the ladies are parking, whether they are parking properly and if there are any traffic wardens around."

New security cameras have also been fitted inside the shop to deter thefts.

Mr Ellis said: "I have had a complete new system put in.

"The old one was black and white and useless. I went to great expense to have new cameras put in. It is really brilliant."
