Huge steel girders crashed off the back of a lorry in Hemel Hempstead.
The heavy metal building materials were left lying in Belswains Lane after the incident at the junction with Lawn Lane on Thursday morning(May 7).

It is believed a female motorist driving behind the truck was forced to reverse to avoid being hit by the girders.

One witness said: "She was extraordinarily lucky."
