Full A&E in Hemel Hempstead will close in March next year, it has been announced.
From that date anyone requiring treatment for serious injuries will have to travel to Watford, where a new modular acute admissions unit has been built.

An original closure date of October cannot be met because of delays at the new unit, where the electricity supply needs updating.

Hemel Hempstead will be left with a minor injuries unit, diagnostic facilities and outpatients department.

A GP polyclinic is also planned for the site.
