A popular carpenter who died tragically in Hemel Hempstead last month has been described as a 'loving, generous bloke'.
More than 150 people turned out to pay their respects to Stephen McFarlane at his funeral in Garston on Friday (August 1).

Mr McFarlane, 29, died at his home in Garland Close on Wednesday, July 23. It is believed he committed suicide.

The former Hemel Hempstead School pupil was described by family as liking DIY and Liverpool FC, and as 'a sociable bloke who loved being out talking to people'.

The coroner's office has given the cause of Mr McFarlane's death as suspension.

His inquest was opened on Monday, July 28, and adjourned to a date to be fixed.

He leaves behind his parents Ron and Jan McFarlane, his sister Tracy McFarlane-Barnes and brother Michael McFarlane, 27.
