A woman biker was airlifted to hospital with serious injuries after a smash in Hemel Hempstead on Monday.
The accident involved another motorbike and two cars on Dagnall Road, in Great Gaddesden.

The 28-year-old woman, from Houghton Regis, was travelling towards Hemel Hempstead when she passed a blue Vauxhall Corsa and collided with an oncoming black
Chrysler.

A male biker, from Houghton Regis, received minor injuries when his Honda CBR collided with the woman's Suzuki 123, before ending up in a ditch.

Two ambulances, from Hemel Hempstead, attended the scene shortly after 11.38am and a passing police firearms team assisted with first aid.

Duty ambulance station manager Barry England thanked the ambulance crews and firearms team for their support.

He said: "The woman sustained serious injuries and due to this the HEMS air ambulance was called to assist.
"After rapid stabilisation by the crews, she was airlifted to the Royal London Hospital in Whitechapel."

The other motorists involved did not need hospital treatment.

The police closed the road at Brandon Lane and Hudnall Lane for three hours and is appealling for witnesses.
