Armed police swooped on a flat in Hemel Hempstead on Thursday afternoon (December 4).
Eye-witnesses said they saw around 18 police officers descend on Belmont Road just before 2pm.

A nearby worker said: "About 18 police went into the flats and took somebody away."

A shopkeeper, who does not wish to be named, said: "I saw two cars pull up and the armed police jumped out. It was very dramatic."

Herts Police spokesman Laurel Smithson said: "A man in his 30s, of no fixed abode, was subsequently arrested on suspicion of armed robbery in Stanmore, North London.

"The investigation is ongoing."
