Hundreds flock to Ashridge House for TV antiques show
MCHG 12-724 " Flog It!" at Ashridge House with presenter Paul Martin.
HUNDREDS of people flocked to Ashridge House on Friday for the chance to make a fortune from their antiques and collectables on national telly.
Experts from the BBC One daytime show FlogIt! were there to value anything brought to them, and see if it’s worth selling in the next stage of the show.
Crowds were queuing outside of the historic venue from before 7.30am, more than two hours before the doors were due to open, and as many as 650 people turned up to the event.
FlogIt! producer Heidi Ellert said: “It was a fantastic turnout and attracted items that will make excellent viewing for the final programmes in our series 11. The location was just perfect.”
The filming at Ashridge will fill four programmes of the show, which are scheduled to be shown early next year.
Janet Stupples brought along items a relative of hers used while working in Ashridge House as a gardener. These included two cans for the stables’ paraffin lamps and a saw.
Items selected at the Ashridge event will be sold at Tring Market Auctions in Brook Street on Friday, September 28.
