Chick out this appeal and be a real hen help
Sunnyside Rural Trust Fox attacks Ray Deacon - the site manager - with some of the remaining chickens.
A nursery that has fallen victim to a number of fox attacks has launched an appeal to raise money to replenish its stock of chickens.
Berkhamsted and Bulbourne Rotary Club has helped Sunnyside Rural Trust to get its campaign off the ground with a £1,000 donation to buy more chickens and a protective run at its Northchurch site.
People are being invited to help the trust in a number of ways including adopting a chicken for £3 a month, sponsoring a pen for £500, donating materials such as wire mesh or volunteering to help build the pens. Foxes have been getting into the chicken runs at Sunnyside Rural Trust and have killed 280 chickens and left the charity with just 20 so it needs to raise £5,000 to put things right.
People can donate online at www.sunnysideruraltrust.org.uk or by calling 01442 863364.
Donations can also be sent to Sunnyside Rural Trust, c/o Civic Centre 161- 163 High Street, Berkhamsted HP4 3HD and cheques should be payable to Sunnyside Rural Trust.
