MEET three of the young women who are sure to gain a boost in confidence by entering the area’s biggest beauty pageant.
Andrea Jane Bunker, Hayley Griffin and Sheryl Page, from Hemel Hempstead, are among seven women from Dacorum going up against 23 other women in the Miss Hertfordshire finals on Sunday, March 18.
Sophie Wadmore, aged 19 and Yasmin Bettis, aged 23, both from Hemel Hempstead and Georgia Craze, aged 21, from Berkhamsted will also compete for the crown.
As well as a host of luxurious prizes, the overall winner will go through to the prestigious Miss England finals later in the year.
For Sheryl and Hayley it will not be their first attempt at winning the coveted title - in fact Sheryl has been bitten by the pageant bug since last year so has entered this year’s Miss Every Model and Miss Earth.
Andrea, who is 19 years old and living in Woodhall Farm, said that she entered the competition because she wants to show her cheating ex-boyfriend that she can make a something of herself.
The brunette, who last year made it to the final audition process of Discovered by Katie Price, said: “Being cheated on made me feel like I wasn’t good enough but getting through to the Miss Hertfordshire finals has given me my self confidence back.
“I don’t need a man to make me feel good about myself. I’m going to raise money for the charity section of the competition with a sky dive”
