WE'RE looking for descendants of Thomas Malin who was the station master at Boxmoor station at the start of the 20th century.
Over two years ago Hemeltoday was contacted by a great-grandchild of Mr Marlin, asking for any information we had on the station.

We put what info we had on site in our Local History section and now another descendant has come forward and would li
ke to contact our original emailer. Sadly as it was over two years ago, we no longer have the address so if you are that person please contact us through the website.

This is the recent plea we've received from Catherine Butland (nee Townsend) in New Zealand: "THOMAS MALIN STATION MASTER BOXMOOR STATION 1900-1910approx I found on your site where someone whose Great Grandfather this was was asking for information. This was also my Great Grandfather and I would like to be put in touch with this person or any descendants of the above please (having interesting information to exchange I expect).

"His daughter was my grandmother Gertrude Hannah Malin and she married William Townsend son of Samuel H Townsend. The reference I saw could be from some time ago but if you could publish my plea for Malin (or Townsend) information I would be very grateful and look forward to some response."

This is Catherine's email: butland@paradise.net.nz
