Facts:
- In 2008 the Hemel Hempstead branch of CND hosted the launch of a new book about the organisation's history to mark 50 years of campaigning and the background of its iconic peace symbol.
- To mark the occasion, infamous activist Pat Arrowsmith signed copies and chatted with shoppers at Waterstones in the Riverside Shopping Centre.
