Fighting experts have teamed up to launch a new gym that really packs a punch in helping people to get fit.

Denniston Sutherland of Hemel Martial Arts and Dave Scarborough, formerly of Fitness Professionals, opened The Combat Fitness Centre in Kings Langley High Street last Monday.

The centre is powered by a number of martial arts gyms all under one roof.

So far they include Hemel Martial Arts (HMA) and Minotaur Thai Boxing Gym and more businesses are in talks about running classes from the space.

It means the centre has a full programme of martial arts-based training and classes for the whole family.

It includes mixed martial arts, Thai boxing, judo, wrestling, sparring, fight training, personal fitness sessions, power plate classes and bootcamps.

People can sign up to become members or pay £5 per session.

There is also a sports massage therapist based at the centre full time.

Mr Sutherland, who previously ran HMA from Fensomes Alley, said: “We are really focussing on fitness for all the family so there are children’s classes in Thai boxing and MMA as well as the adult classes.

“We have a ladies only session at 10am for mums to do after the school run and the bootcamps work for people with specific time frame goals.

“We cover everything so if you want to get fit this is the place for you. We are not a ‘treadmill and a cup of coffee’ gym, we concentrate on hard work to get real results.”

The centre is offering free trials to new clients. For more information find The Combat Fitness Centre on Facebook.
