High Herts Riding School

Providing riding and equestrian services to schools and individuals from St Albans to Oxhey since 1976, one of High Herts’ specialities is the provision of programmes that benefit children with behavioural and learning difficulties.

These lessons include not just weekly horse riding skills, but also those associated with the activity such as keeping fit and healthy, working in a team, taking individual responsibilities and instruction, animal husbandry and land management.

If High Herts were to be awarded the Community Sports Award grant, they would like to invite pupils from local schools such as Woodfield – who have suffered from funding cuts – to continue taking lessons at the riding school to ensure they are able to take advantage of the enrichment that riding brings.
