Two chimney fires in Hemel Hempstead

Firefighters were called to two chimney fires at separate homes in Hemel Hempstead today.

The first was just before 11am at a property in Georgewood Road, while the other happened just before 3.30pm in Winding Shot.

Blue Watch firefighters used specialist chimney rods to put out the flames.

Crew commander Steve Bradford said: “Both fires were accidental - the owners had done nothing wrong - but it acts as a good reminder for people to get their chimneys cleaned out.”
