Tiggywinkles, The Wildlife Hospital Trust
Location: Haddenham, Aylesbury
What they do:
Tiggywinkles is a wildlife hospital caring for sick and injured hedgehogs, badgers, wild birds, foxes, reptiles and amphibians.
Who it helps:
The centre treats more than 10,000 animal casualties every year, all free of charge, including a number found by the public in Dacorum.
Facts:
Tiggywinkles is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week for wildlife casualties.
There are more than 1100 animals in the hospital at the moment, including 500 hedgehogs.
The hospital emerged from a family who began taking injured animals into their own home during the late 1970s, paying for their care out of their own savings. In 1983 the hospital became a registered charity.
