Facts:
In 2008 the Hemel Hempstead branch of CND hosted the launch of a new book about the organisation's history to mark 50 years of campaigning and the background of its iconic peace symbol.
To mark the occasion, infamous activist Pat Arrowsmith signed copies and chatted with shoppers at Waterstones in the Riverside Shopping Centre.
