Lessons in livestock down on the farm
Brockswood Primary and Nursery School youngsters experienced life on a working farm thanks to the Crown Estate.
Youngsters found out what life was like on a working farm thanks to a programme for city children.
Pupils from Hemel Hempstead’s Brockswood Primary and Nursery School went to Wick Court Farm in Gloucestershire for a week, which was part funded by landowner The Crown Estate.
The trip was organised as part of the Farms for City Children programme, established in the 1970s by author Michael Morpurgo. It aims to expand the horizons of children from towns and cities by offering them the opportunity to experience life in the countryside.
Teacher Annie Swan said: “The children behaved excellently at all times and showed fantastic manners to all the Wick Court Farm staff. They are a true credit to Brockswood and it was a pleasure to be away with them.”
