All engines go at latest Dacorum Steam Fayre

Hundreds of people flocked to a field in Potten End for this year’s Dacorum Steam and Country Fayre.

There were displays of classic cars, tractors and steam engines at the annual fundraising event for The Hospice of St Francis in Northchurch.

Dawn Bunker, who helped organise the two-day fete on behalf of the Dacorum Machinery and Steam Preservation Group, said: “Everyone had a really nice time.

“What was really, really nice is as the public were walking out, they all thanked us and said what a lovely time they’d had.”

Attractions at the weekend fayre at Green Croft Farm included log splitting displays, circus skills workshops and a mini Thomas the Tank Engine Train ride.

There was also an escapologist, who broke out of a straight jacket while hanging from a cherry picker.
