Over 50 ladies packed the village hall to listen to our guest speaker talk about the history and manufacture of Billington Sugars and Allison Flour.

This proved to be a most absorbing subject and well presented by our speaker who, when she had finished speaking and dealt with the numerous questions, gave each person present a 'goodies bag' containing small bags of flour, sugar and cookery leaflets.

A truly informative and enjoyable evening.
