Further to our last newsletter we have to unfortunately report that the membership has been temporarily closed, due basically to the successful coverage of our club in this Society Reports section, with seven new members this year alone - so our hall has been straining at the seams.

Our life membership is some 68 members with an average age of 70. Out of these members 14 ladies and 31 gents play on a regular basis.

At present, we have two ladies on the waiting list, so if you are not a member just drop in at the village hall on one of the days listed below, to check out what its like and get your name down.

The sessions are Monday 10am - midday one table; Tuesday 2pm - 4pm three tables; Friday 10am - midday three tables.

Our golfing day-out organised by Tony Williams will be in September. The date and venue yet to be arranged.

Our Christmas dinner is on December 9 at Sinatra's Restaurant, Hemel Hempstead, with a maximum of 57 people - so get your name down early.

Finally, over the last two years we have played friendlies against local league teams so if you want a warm up session please let us know and we can arrange to visit you.

Thanks Gazette for all you have done to promote our club.
