At our April meeting, our president announced that our colleague Norah Marnham had unfortunately died after an illness. A collection was made in her name and will go to the Iain Rennie Hospice at Home.

The president's coffee morning went well and £108 was raised.

Regrettably the Beetle Drive planned for April 25 has been cancelled.

Next year, we were reminded is our 90th anniversary; all agreed it must be properly celebrated and a coach will
be laid on to take us to somewhere special. Ideas are requested.

May's meeting will include a discussion on the two national resolutions and to help the little grey cells, wine and cheese will be provided.

Also those wanting bursaries should put their names forward to be drawn.

For the walking types, there is a ramble on May 7 - Cross Keys pub, Gustard Wood, near Wheathampstead 9.45am.

On June 1, Kings Langley will have a Farm Day; we will need helpers and cakes for our stall. The next outing will be on May 23 - a coach trip to Luton Hoo, £19.

Helen Batchelor asked for sponsorship of her Run with the Stars on June 21.

Mrs Gillian Cordingley then gave us an interesting talk with slides on the unusual character of our WI founder Lady G. Denman who also managed the Land Army.

The next meeting is May 13 - Community Centre. Ladies of all ages are welcome. Enquiries to Mrs Linda Brady on 01442 831763 or Mrs Rene Gardner on 01923 264754.
