The speaker for the April meeting was Dr Brenda Harold, who showed interesting slides on Wild Flowers in the Canadian Rockies.

Firstly, she explained the geography on how the earth in that area formed 140 million years ago, a mind blowing time scale difficult to imagine.

The flowers have a short flowering season and some species are rare and difficult to find.

Members were informed of outings and the May meeting will be the resolution meeting when we will discuss a 'Ban Bottom Trawling' which causes loss of marine life, and the 'Inappropriate Imprisonment of the Severely Mentally Ill'.

The next meeting is on May 9 at 2.15pm at The Blind Centre, Alston Road, Boxmoor.
