Members were intrigued to hear about the ghost, which had allegedly been seen in the Watford Palace Theatre, when Ian Scleator, the theatre's archivist was guest speaker at the recent carers' support group meeting.
Ian had been asked to become the archivist after being associated with the theatre, acting as musical director for 30 years and then serving on the board of directors.
He was enthusiastically applauded and presented with a token of appreciation.
On Friday, June 21, the Dacorum branch will be taking part in a nationwide Day of Action, organised by the Alzheimer's Society to highlight the very expensive and unfair charges people with dementia have to pay for their social care.
We are hoping for lots of support and would like members of the public to join us.
We will be rallying in Bank Court at 10.45am and setting off (with banners) at 11am to march to the Civic Centre, where our local MP Mike Penning will give a speech.
Our next evening meeting, 7.30pm-9.30pm is on Monday, June 15 at the High View Lodge Day Centre in Gadebridge, Hemel Hempstead.
For information about the society's activities and the support available to people with dementia and their family carers please ring Norma on 01442 252435.
