Fifteen cadets from (1113) Berkhamsted, (2457) Tring and (220) St. Albans squadrons took part in a Bronze DEA expedition last weekend.

The majority were completing their practice expeditions and five completed their qualifying venture.

The routes went between Berkhamsted squadron and Phasels Wood (near Kings Langley).

All teams completed the course in good time. This was due to good navigation, good teamwork and high morale despite the april showers.

All cadets commented on their improved navigation, campcraft and general expedition skills. Plt Off Deacon said: "It was great to see cadets from different squadrons coming together and working well together not only to achieve a task, but to all learn valuable skills."

Recently cadets and staff from 1113 received awards presented by Air Commodore Gordon Moulds, the Commandant of the Air Training Corps at RAF Halton. The awards included a certificate presented to Cdt Cpl Nick Cathcart for successfully completing the Air Cadet Leadership Course, National Sports Representative Certificate for athletics presented to Cpl Jenny Hayward and Basic Expedition Leader Award to Flt Lt Elaine Porter (OC 1113 sqn).
