A passionate community campaigner who fought for the people of Berkhamsted has died at the age of 77.
Popular Joan Walker, of Manor Street, died last Tuesday after suffering from Motor Nurone Disease.

During her time in the town Joan battled to save both the town hall and maternity unit at Hemel Hempstead Hospital from closure.

Those who knew her are welcome to join the funeral service on Monday at St Peter's Church from 2pm.

Family and friends will then head to Kingshill Cemetery before going to the town hall for the wake.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks donations be made to the Motor Nurone Disease Association.
