Dozens of distraught Berkhamsted parents have been told their four-year-olds have not been offered a place in any of the town's primary schools.
Too full to hold all of Berkhamsted's youngsters, many families may now have to traipse to Hemel Hempstead where there are still places in primary schools.

Parents will have two weeks to respond to the news they recieved from Herts County Council today (Thursday, 17).

If they do not accept the place their child has been offered in Hemel Hempstead they will be put on a 'continuing interest' list in the hope that a space at their school of choice becomes free.

For a full report see next week's Berkhamsted and Tring Gazette.
