BAD WEATHER did not prevent good attendance at Potten End's 2008 Village Show.

Organised by the Horticultural Society, it was held in Potten End Village Hall last Saturday (July 12).

With 36 participants with fruit and vegtable displays, the judges had a difficult job picking the different winners for each category.

This was made even more difficult with the inclusion of mouth watering cakes in this year's competition.

A floral display by Mrs Jill Gardener was judged to be Best in Show.

Prizes were presented by Anna Barnard, chairwoman of Nettleden with Potten End Parish Council.
