Grooms-to-be are being given a helping hand to tone up and trim down for the big day from a personal training studio with a difference.
Adrienne Barnes, 48, and Steve Allsop, 52, who own Innergym in Berkhamsted, know how difficult it can be to get in shape.

Adrienne used to weigh 20 stone and Steve was forced to make serious lifestyle changes after suffering from a heart attack several years ago.

The pair, who are now both personal trainers, opened Innergym in February and are hoping their personal experiences will help grooms of all ages to shape up.

Adrienne said: "Brides spend a lot of time getting ready for their wedding day from waxing and tanning to getting their hair done and I think grooms get left behind a bit and I am sure they want to look good too."

"What we want to do is help get them fit as the icing on the cake."

Steve added: "With my background I became convinced that a programme of personal training could quite literally give you a new lease of life and now I can use my own personal experiences to design programmes that really work- and don't frighten the life out of the client."

One groom on board is Paul Armstrong, 29, from Watford.

Paul and his finance Hannah will be walking down the aisle on their second anniversary on November 14 at Shendish Manor.

With a hectic social life and little time for exercise the couple both wanted to shape up.

Paul said: "We are happy with each other but we want to be comfortable and happy for the photos.

"I don't want to look back and see a double chin because it is the most important day."

Innergym are offering a free 30 minute taster session and grooms that sign up to 10 lessons will get one free of him and his partner.

All packages organised by Innergym are tailor made and costs may vary.
