BOXMOOR Cricket Club celebrates its 150th anniversary next year and wants to hear from as many old players and others who have been associated with it.

IT was in 1857 that the Boxmoor Trust allowed a piece of their land to be used as a cricket pitch which became known as the 'Boxmoor Oval' and Boxmoor Cricket Club was born.

A pavilion of sorts was first permitted near the site of the old Star Cottages in the mid 1930s

A new proper pavilion was built in the early 1960s, but this was destroyed by fire and a new pavilion was built in the 1980s with further extensions built in the 1990s.

 

The Club 1st Xl now plays in Herts League Division 6
