CHILD OF THE SIXTIES (Part 6)

SHENDISH Day, June 1963. In those days Shendish was the home of the Dickinson's Sports and Social Club. Every year a day of fun and entertainment was held at Shendish for Dickinson employees and their families

THE Kings Langley School play from the winter of 1962. Can anyone tell us more about the play or the school in those days?

LADY Davidson opened Davidson House, the new Conservative Party HQ in Hemel Hempstead in October 1967. It was the church hall of the original St Pauls Church which was demolished early in the days of the new town.

Lady Davidson was a long-serving MP for the town.

In May, 2003, it was decided to demolish Davidson House to replace it with a block of flats.

 

Akeman Street, Tring in the 1960s. The shop you can see was Woolsey Ltd, Coal and Coke merchants.
