Mountbatten School

The school replaced the old Corner Hall schools, and was officially opened on November 24, 1970. Lord Mountbatten himself was the guest of honour.

After what seemed a very short life, the school closed in the summer term of 1991.

For a short while it housed the Advisory Training Centre, the former Teachers Centre Library. The area was eventually developed as new housing.
