Times Square

An attractive open space in the busy town centre.

It didn't become part of the New Town scene until the early 1970s when the Sainsbury's and Boots stores were built...and it only last 20 or so years to make way for shops.

It became known as Times Square because Times Furnishing had their store one side of the Square.

In the late 1970s a wall mounted sculpture by British sculptor Richard Browne called 'Growth' was unveiled in the Square.
