The Marlowes footbridge

 

Spanning the main shopping street it should have been an ideal way when Marlowes was open to traffic for pedestrians to cross from one side to the other under cover, it even lead to the popular Wimpy Bar, but it never really caught on and was demolished as Marlowes was pedestrianised and the Marlowes Centre built.

This picture was kindly send in to us by a reader, D.Gurney, and comes from a 1967 guidebook to Hemel Hempstead
