BP House, built over Marlowes


BP House in the 1960s

 

Construction work took place between 1961-63 to the landmark building which spanned Marlowes and was the gateway to Hemel Hempstead Town Centre.

In 1983 large cracks began to appear in the building - the official reason given at the time was land shrinkage,

The offices were closed and the road underneath was closed. Eventually, in 1988 demolition work took place
