JOHN DICKINSON INTRODUCTION
WE have rebuilt our very popular section on the story of John Dickinson and his paper mills in The Hemel Hempstead area. The company was even the reason that Apsley Station was built in 1938.

The last of the mills in the area - Apsley - closed in May 1999 and the site has now been developed for homes, a hotel and marina.

We have tried to tell some of the mills and its people over that 200 year period.

We have divided the story into 14 web pages with pictures. Just click the panels below to follow the the story.
