The Berkhamsted & Hemel Hempstead Hockey Club ladies’ first team have continued their impressive form with three wins and a draw from their last four games – a run that moves them up to third in the league.

They were on winning form at the weekend as they beat Welwyn 2-1, and this coming Saturday will be a big test as they play top of the table Leighton Buzzard.

The ladies’ 2s, meanwhile, are on a remarkable 24-game winning streak that started last season. Strangely this season they are managing to win by scoring exactly two goals every game, including a 2-1 triumph over Broxbourne in their latest outing.

Elsewhere in the ladies’ section, the 3s were beaten 2-0 by a tough Welwyn side, while the youngsters in the fourth team came out second best against a very strong Chiltern side.

In the men’s section, Berko had a 3-game battle with Bedford, coming away with honours shared.

The men’s 3s were 4-0 winners, with Charlie Gray being named man of the match, while the 1s drew 2-2 and the 2s lost 4-2.

The men’s 4s lost out narrowly against a physical Luton Vagrants side, but they deserved more from the game.
